The Waldzither is a rare European variant of the mandolin/cittern. The tenor variant seems to be the most common one today, although you can also occasionally find a Diskant-Waldzither or even a Baß-Waldzither or a Piccolo-Waldzither.

The Tenor-Waldzither is also known as a Jägerzither or a Lutherzither. It's somewhere between the alto mandola and the tenor mandola in size and has an extra single bass string.
