 Picture source: The Musica Viva instrument gallery | Lars Tørresen is a Norwegian lute maker who seems to keep a low profile. That's a pity because he makes some really good instruments (with rather hefty price tags). My treble lute is one the first he made (in fact the first instrurment he ever made for sale). He's developed his skills a lot since then of course, but even so it's a lovely little Elizabethan style treble lute, a pleasure to play and with a bright and clear voice. |
